![]() ![]() Paulette Rousselle A lifetime of answering the question "why?" has led Paulette to earn two degrees from Cornell University, publish scientific papers, and pursue a career in the high tech industry. Yet science must be balanced with art, and to fulfill that need, Paulette has turned to writing. Her art has taken her to the Clarion West workshop, numerous writing and science fiction conferences and the University of Washington Extension Program. In her writing, Paulette still asks the question "why?" Why do characters do what they do? Here she falls back on her scientific background and conducts literary experiments. What if a character did not have the opportunity to choose his occupation? What if another character forced him down a road he did not want to take? What if a character both loved and hated the talent he possessed? What if, with the touch of a finger, we could sense the subtleties of the world around us? What if we could touch someone and feel what that person did for a living, feel the health or illness of a child, feel the sorrow of a loved one? What if our touch told us things that we could never know any other way? To answer those questions, Paulette wrote Katrina's Touch. Paulette may be reached at paulette@katrinastouch.com. |
